Alpine Armoring certifies pre-owned armored vehicles through a three-part process covering ballistic validation, mechanical inspection, and documentation review. Every certified pre-owned vehicle must pass all three stages before Alpine Armoring approves it for resale – no vehicle is fast-tracked or given any form of conditional approval through the program.
1. Ballistic Validation: Alpine Armoring's technicians physically inspect all ballistic materials, mounting systems, and bullet-resistant glass to confirm they still meet original NIJ, CEN, or VPAM specifications. The evaluation checks for impact damage, material fatigue, and seal integrity across the entire protection envelope. Any component that no longer meets the original armor level requirements is replaced before certification is issued.
2. Mechanical Inspection: The review covers compression testing, fluid analysis, and a full operational assessment of the engine, transmission, suspension, braking system, and electrical components. Suspension systems receive particular attention since armor plating typically adds 600 to 1,500 pounds to the vehicle's weight – and a suspension that cannot handle that load will compromise both safety and real-world handling performance.
3. Documentation Review: Alpine Armoring verifies the complete service history, maintenance records, and original armor certification documents. The certification transfer confirms the protection level, installed options, and operational history – so buyers know exactly what they're purchasing before any transaction is finalized.
If a vehicle fails any stage of inspection, it undergoes full reconditioning before certification is issued. This covers protection system updates, mechanical restoration, and cosmetic refurbishment – including leather repair or replacement, exterior paint correction, dashboard reconditioning, and technology interface updates – bringing the vehicle back to new-vehicle performance and protection standards before it's offered for sale.
Alpine Armoring's certified pre-owned program exists because a used armored vehicle is only as valuable as its verified level of protection. Buyers receive complete documentation confirming armor specifications, service history, and certification status with every purchase.
