Custom Armoring Services for Your Vehicle

Alpine Armoring provides custom armoring services for sedans, SUVs, vans, trucks, and law enforcement vehicles – transforming your vehicle into a bulletproof fortress without compromising comfort, aesthetics, or drivability. Our custom armoring process upgrades each vehicle to withstand ballistic threats, challenging terrain, and unexpected circumstances through cutting-edge safety features like run-flat inserts, reinforced steel, and bullet-resistant glass.

Get your vehicle armored from Alpine Level A1 (CEN B1) to Alpine Level A12 (B7+) armoring standards. Our expertise extends to a wide range of luxury and premium brands, including Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Lamborghini, Range Rover, Tesla, Toyota, and Volkswagen, plus SWAT/APC trucks.

High-Grade Bulletproof Armor, Rigorous Testing Protocol, and Quality Assurance

Not all bulletproof vehicles are created equal. Our certified materials undergo rigorous ballistic testing by globally recognized independent laboratories, such as the United States Army's Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), meeting or surpassing the most stringent international standards, including CEN 1063 BR testing, ensuring top-tier protection.

Alpine Armoring frequently conducts both third-party and in-house live-fire certification using various firearms to determine how many rounds, at what angles, and the grain/weight of the round it takes before penetration occurs.

Unlike others in the industry, Alpine not only tests standalone ballistic materials, but we also conduct in-house live-fire tests at our facility on our bulletproof cars, validating their ability to withstand assaults in dangerous environments. This is one more reason that separates us from all others in the industry and makes us a respected leader in this field.

Custom Armored Vehicles - Transform Any Vehicle into a Mobile Safe Room

At Alpine Armoring, we focus on creating custom armored vehicles to meet your specific safety requirements, making sure you and your passengers are protected in any situation.

Can Any Car Be Armored?

With the right skills, our team can transform nearly any vehicle into a bulletproof fortress, leveraging our expertise and state-of-the-art facilities to work with a wide range of vehicle types. Larger-framed vehicles with powerful engines, such as three-row SUVs, full-size sedans, and pickup trucks, are ideal for armoring, as they are designed to handle additional weight effectively.

However, certain vehicles pose challenges: convertibles, older vehicles with high mileage, and small to compact-sized cars are difficult or nearly impossible to armor. Luxury and exotic vehicles, while feasible, require additional research and development to ensure optimal material integration, resulting in higher costs.

Custom Build Timeline

If you'd like a new armored SUV or sedan, the custom build process typically takes 4 to 12 weeks depending on the protection level and vehicle type.

  • Light to medium armoring (Alpine A1 to A9) requires 30-45 days and 200-400 armoring man-hours
  • Heavy armoring (A10 to A12) demands 45-60 days and 400–700 man-hours
  • Specialty builds with surveillance systems or defensive countermeasures may extend beyond 12 weeks.

Factors like vehicle availability, customization scope, and ballistic testing requirements can also influence timing. If your timeline is urgent, we always maintain a selection of ready-to-deliver armored vehicles in stock.

Discreet Armoring with Advanced Integration

Alpine Armoring's armored vehicles look virtually identical to their factory counterparts. This is accomplished using advanced techniques to integrate ballistic protection seamlessly into each vehicle without compromising aesthetics. To maintain drivability, every build includes a reinforced suspension, upgraded brakes, and run-flat tire inserts.

Ballistic Armor and Performance

Alpine Armoring's design and engineering team uses a combination of high-grade certified ballistic materials — including ballistic steel, ceramic composites, Kevlar aramid fiber, and Dyneema polyethylene — selected based on the specific vehicle and protection level.

Ceramic composites are used for their ability to defeat rifle-caliber threats at minimal weight, while Kevlar and Dyneema provide flexible, lightweight reinforcement that can be shaped to fit complex body panels.

This multi-material approach keeps the added weight within the vehicle's Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR), so that acceleration, handling, and braking remain close to factory performance.

Every armored vehicle also undergoes suspension and braking upgrades to safely handle the additional load.

Ready to Get Started?

Whether you need a discreet executive sedan, a fortified SUV, or a tactical law enforcement vehicle, Alpine Armoring builds to your exact specifications and protection level.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Can you armor a Tesla?

Absolutely! Not only have we armored a Tesla Model S to Alpine Level A9 (CEN B6+), but we’ve also successfully conducted live-fire testing of the vehicle demonstrating the effectiveness and reliability of our advanced ballistic protection. We have also conducted an extended full QA/QC Testing program, along with a full driving & slalom test for handling & weight distribution data. Check out the video or read the Press Release for more information.

Q2: What is the range of the bulletproof Tesla?

The range of a bulletproof Tesla will depend on a few factors including the specific Tesla model and body style, the level of armoring required, and the materials used. Higher levels of armoring typically use thicker materials resulting in a significant weight increase. Whenever possible, Alpine Armoring incorporates different composite ballistic materials to help with overall weight reduction. Example: a Model S sedan with a lower level of armoring, like A4, may experience only a 5% reduction in overall range, while armoring the same vehicle to level A9 could reduce the driving range close to 10-15%.

Q3: Is the Tesla Cybertruck armored?

No, the Cybertruck is not armored, but rather the exterior of the Cybertruck is made of 1.4mm to 1.8mm standard stainless steel panels, that as a byproduct of this material can stop small handgun rounds. This stainless steel is not certified ballistic steel and the glass is standard vehicle glass with no ballistic capability. At Alpine Armoring, we use certified ballistic steel & composite materials that cover Alpine Protection Levels A4 to A12, as well as VPAM and NIJ Certified levels and certified transparent armor made of varying polycarbonate layers.

Q4. What is Tesla armor glass?

Tesla has filed a patent for "a multilayer glass stack for a vehicle windshield with improved durability," however this is not currently used in any Tesla vehicles.
