In the media and general public, references to "armored vehicles" often have a military subtext. However, in the industry that we are in, armored vehicles are non-military, but include law enforcement and commercial application, as well as personal use. This means a variety of Sedans, SUVs, Vans, and Trucks of different sizes for various commercial and law enforcement applications.

We often keep an ample supply of armored vehicles for sale that are completed and available for immediate shipping. A new SUV or Sedan would take about 4 to 12 weeks to finish. Exotic vehicles, as well as SWAT trucks, and Riot Control trucks take longer.

Depending on the protection level, anywhere from 600 – 1500 lbs. On heavier duty trucks the added weight would be much more. However, we always make sure the added weight is below the GVWR of the specific vehicle designed to be armored.

Alpine Armoring charges $140,000 to $180,000 for a vehicle with Alpine Level A4 (CEN B4) handgun protection. Alpine Level A9 (B6+), rated against AK-47 and M80 ball rounds, runs $200,000 to $580,000. Yes. Alpine Armoring ships armored vehicles to nearly 90 countries. Ocean freight takes 30 to 90 days: most vehicles travel in 20ft or 40ft containers, while SWAT trucks and cash-in-transit vehicles go Roll On/Roll Off. Air cargo takes 1 to 3 weeks. Our freight forwarders handle the paperwork, or you can use your own.

Some do. Vehicles at Alpine Level A10 (CEN B7) and above always need a U.S. export license, as does any vehicle with gun ports. Below that, GVWR, the end user, and the destination decide it. Licenses take 2 to 6 weeks, and Alpine Armoring handles the export license application during order processing.

Alpine Armoring screens every export buyer against the U.S. Consolidated Screening List, so tell us who will use the vehicle. If the vehicle needs a license, you sign Form BIS-711, the Statement by Ultimate Consignee and Purchaser. On arrival, you clear customs, pay duties, and register the vehicle, so check your country's armored car rules first.

Buyers abroad pay on Alpine Armoring's standard terms: a 50% deposit when you order and the balance before the vehicle ships, both by wire transfer. Foreign governments can use a pre-approved Letter of Credit. For an in-stock vehicle, you wire the full price before it ships, so allow time for an international transfer.
