What Features Can Be Added to an Armored Vehicle?

Alpine Armoring can add dozens of features to an armored vehicle beyond the core ballistic package, grouped into four areas: armoring upgrades, conversion accessories, communications, and other tactical or comfort options. Keep in mind that the added options & features may depend on the OEM Chassis being armored. Every feature is engineered into the build, not bolted on afterward, so protection, handling, and the factory look all stay intact. The right mix depends on the client, the threat, and how the vehicle will be used, from a discreet executive build to a fully tactical truck.

  • Armoring upgrades. Beyond ballistic steel, composite armor, and glass, Alpine adds run-flat inserts (standard on every armored SUV and sedan), ballistic radiator and wheel-well protection, reinforced bumpers, and the heavy-duty suspension, brakes, hinges, emergency egress systems and window actuators that carry the added weight.
  • Conversion accessories. For tactical and utility builds, options include a roof hatch and overwatch area, lighting packages, ram bumper, heavy-duty winch, weapon vault lockbox, gun racks, tire racks, MOLLE racks, and heavy-duty side steps, which are common on law enforcement vehicles and specialty trucks.
  • Communications. Alpine installs two-way and advanced intercom systems, Public Address Systems, satellite phone systems, PA and multi-siren setups, LRAD units, and satellite TV, so occupants stay connected and can speak to people outside without breaking the seal.
  • Other options. Countermeasures and emergency add-ons cover emergency oxygen, engine-bay fire suppression, a smoke-screen system, night-vision cameras, emergency lightbars and strobes, bomb jamming and detection, and 360-degree monitoring, plus comfort items like a privacy curtain, rear AC, and a power inverter with USB outlets.
  • Engineered in, not added on. Alpine’s design team integrates each option during the conversion and re-checks weight and handling, which is why the extras never compromise the vehicle’s protection level or drivability.
